Wedding Weekend schedule to go with our OOT package (DH mom made cookies and my mom made nutbreads)

Grove pavilion layout (I am a space planner so I was able to put the layout in Autocad)

This is me with DH's snowmobile trailer that we used to haul everthing up to Point Sebago

We rented golf carts for the weekend to get around the resort. My SIL decided to decorate them.

The cake before its tragic accident. In the heat, the cake topper slide off the cake while we were on the beach getting married. Thanks to some quick thinking aunts the next time I saw the cake it had orchids on top, ha ha...

Planning Bio

I apologize in advance if I have taken pictures without giving credit. I have been collecting for a while. Page me on the Maine board or the September 2007 board and I will add credit.
Picture of us on a short vacation in Niagara Falls on the way home from visiting my family

We are planning a casual wedding and reception in Maine. We are hoping for 'picnic' feeling throughout the weekend. Hopefully most of our families and friends will stay with us for the weekend at the resort. Getting Married on the beach with a lobster bake reception at the pavilion type building.
I bought about 15 yards of each of these fabrics on clearance. My mom and I are going to make table runners out of the brown for each table and table covers for the cake and guestbook table out of the green.

Imagine chairs and us standing by the trees in the shade to get married (I don’t want to sweat)

I love the look of this tulle and Christmas lights on the ceiling. My reception site has wood beams that I could tie stuff to. I am just not sure I want to put this much time into decorating.

My regular hairdresser from Billerica MA is going to come to Maine to do hair and makeup. I am looking for pictures with updos incorporating flowers, curly of course since my hair is always curly. No tiara, not sure about the veil.

Hair Trial

My hairdresser gave me a preview of her ideas for my wedding hair do. Turns out I can do this myself just twisting my hiar and using hair pins. She is going to make my curls neater for the big day!

Guestbook: Pottery barn 8x10 picture frame.

Here is a picture of my moms collection of bells so far, some of them are pretty ugly, it should provide good conversation topics at the reception.

I picked up a few of the larger moose lanterns for the reception.

I picked up the stamp the other day, I am going to use it to make shower thank you cards. I also picked up some clear glass tiny beads to glue on the tub part. I am going to color the tub green with a marker and then glue the tiny clear beads on top to make a texture. I picked up some super cheap thank you cards that just have the thank you in silver at the bottom on the front so I am planning to embellish them. I will put the mock up of the cards in soon..

We will print up a timeline for guests something like this:

The Dress

I love this necklace. My dress has a lot going on with the halter, I think this may be simple enough.

Ceremony and Reception: Booked Resort in Casco, Maine Simple ceremony is outside on the beach, Reception in a picnic pavilion building. At least half of our guests will (hopefully) be staying at the resort.

Officiant: Booked with the Resort

Flowers: My good friend Terri, she has excellent taste and I have seen her work at Showers. She uses mostly wildflowers. I am leaving the whole thing to her capable creative self. These are the colors she is using as inspiration…

Photographer: Booked in Windham Maine. We are going to have a private walk with bride, groom and the photographer for pictures before the ceremony. The resort has lots of good areas by the lake and in the woods for good pictures.

DJ: FI's Aunt Judy

Cake: Cake Buffet from Windham Maine bakery. Different flavors of cakes includiding: Peanut Butter and Chocolate, German chocolate, Lemon Rasperry, whoopee pie and Carrot.

Favors: Chocolate lobsters with green bow and DIY paper thank you tag, something like this

Cake Plate I painted

I ordered this on Ebay, FI is a hunter. He is going to find it after the wedding is over.

Honeymoon: 12 days in Ireland

We are staying the first three nights at the Waterloo Guesthouse in Dublin! This was one of the few places with King size beds (We Americans are so spoiled!)

I got a good tip from Maine knottie Hikingnclimbing for an innovative registry where you can register for anything, even something not available online. Check it out!!
