Kari & Patrick
Patrick and I met at Washington State University. A friend (our Maid of Honor) introduced us on the first day of a communications class and after a year and a half we finally started dating. We dated for four years and got engaged on St. Patrick's Day 2006 and I was completely surprised.

I love this crappy camera phone picture. In November we went to the Seahawks Monday Night football game against Greenbay and it started to snow like crazy. I drank a bunch of beer with my cousins, to the point where FI reminded me, "you have to teach tomorrow!" The Seahawks won and we left a smidge early thanks to the victory. Once we started traveling on I-5 and the traffic slowed, my cousin took a random exit where we began the hour-long trip home--still snowin--still treacherous! We made it home in a little over an hour (10:30 PM) thanks to my cousin's detour and others didn't make it home until 4:00 AM! Oh yeah, and school was canceled the next day. ;-)
The Bride

These are our rings. Both are from Jared! I have a separate wedding ring that I wear on my right ring finger. I know, weird.
This is the dress! It is Private Label by G and was found at The Wedding Bell in Tacoma, WA. I didn't cry, but knew it was it!
A picture to show the detial on the dress--freakin' gorgeous, I tell you!
Hair trial! Doesn't look like the pictures below, does it? Ah, eyebrow waxing...what we women go through to look nice.
RachaelandCarl is gorgeous and I love her curls. MrsRobsButton is too cute (on the right). Check out their PERFECT bios!
I recently decided that I will wear my hair down and curly for the ceremony, and put it up for the reception (and impending dancing!). Lord knows my hair won't stay curly for that long and thank gosh my hairdresser will be at the wedding! So, here come a few quick and easy styles for the reception...
I am going without a veil no matter what. I love flowers in the hair, which I will do for the reception. Jennifer Garner is on the left. Kate Beckinsale, the reigning queen of up-do's on the right.
MrspdxBride06 on the left, Djrs on the right.
Love these pins from Martha Stewart Weddings. They are 250 for the pair. I am thinking I can DIY. ;-) Or not...
This was one of my Christmas gifts from Patrick--a pink sapphire necklace that I am pretty sure I'll wear on the wedding day. I may go without and just wear simple earrings.
Loving the shoes on the left (from myglassslipper.com) and now the ones on the right. I guess I like bows. I might dye my shoes pink, or maybe leave them white.
On the left is another prospective pair from J.Crew and the very famous "something blue" on the right.
These are the shoes! They are so pretty. They are also my something blue, as all shoes from Blue Tux have blue soles.
I am going to pin a "W" in memory of my Papa Chuck, who passed away five years ago, to the ribbon on my bouquet. From eBay seller Hangin' Out at Bobbie's for 20 dollars.
My dress only requires a single point bustle, and I haven't decided if I'll do French or not. If I don't, I'll use this brooch!

Heather (MaidOH, sorority sister--the one who introduced Patrick and me)

Kelly (MatronOH and sorority sister)
I have been in many weddings, including a few of these ladies'. I feel like a pro, especially with these chicks backing me up!
Thanks to Future_Barron, I showed the BM's this J. Crew dress and they loved it.
My darling mom did not want any old MOB dress. She saw Jordin Sparks on the American Idol finale and decided she wanted this dress. It is from a boutique in California, called Poppie Couture. My mom ordered it only a month and a half before the wedding and grew concerned at the month mark that it wouldn't be on time. She called Poppie a month before the wedding and Poppie guaranteed its safe delivery. ON THE DAY of the wedding, it arrived! My mom had a back-up plan but really wanted to wear the pink. So glad she did!
Groomsmen
I think this look is very appropriate for our outdoor wedding. FI won't wear a jacket, though, and they'll all wear white shirts, black pants and a colored tie--probably sherbert-y pink. This pics is from knottie Shanbrite2's wedding on the left. Cousin Chelsy's wedding on the right.
All pieces were purchased from Macy*s during one of their major sales.
Bouquets and Bouts
My bouquet will look mostly like this--and I am so excited! Knottie Yoraflee.
Did I meniton I love gaudy glitter and sparkles? Oh yes, and it will be everywhere...tastefully, you'll see! The florist is already on it!
The bridesmaids will carry something like this. Gerberas with greenery!
Bouts are easy! FI is wearing a lily and rose bout (imagine a lily in the one on the left) and the GM are wearing singler gerberas--I love the way that looks!
Our flower girl will carry a pomander. JSue on the left--liking the ribbon.
This is Alyssa on the wedding day! My grandma made the dress from a pattern I selected (pattern shopping whaaa?). The orange is just a wide ribbon sew to accent the dress.
Ceremony
We are going to have an altar very similar to these, that my dad is making. We'll just throw some ivy and other greenery around the top. Bella26 on the right
I love these topiaries with daisies in them for the beginning of the aisle.
This aisle is awesome! Since our bridal party will be in black and white, I am thinking this is an awesome way to use our colors.
Thinking about doing this for the aisle seats...I just love fresh flowers and love the pictures of brides and grooms being showered with them as they leave the ceremony. So classic and pretty!
How fun is this chair arrangement? Think we can do it with 300 chairs?
Reception
Our ceremony and reception will take place at the Pioneer Park Pavilion in Puyallup and it's perfect for the tone of our wedding. Very much our style. Weather permitting, we'll get married outside.
Cakes
I gone done did it and gave this picture to our baker, the wonderful Kelli Morse!
It'll be three layers, and the top one is our anniversary cake. Layer one will be coconut with bavarian creme filling and layer two will be pink champagne with strawberry filling.
WeezerMonkey's cake is just beautiful and I love the top--which is what I think we might do (or something similar) for ours.
I know the Lenox flutes are out there and I might try and snag them still. Otherwise, my MatronOH gave me some pink flutes a while back, and they would work just as well! This and a serving set...don't care so much.
Guestbook
I like that bryslove has just a couple jars of sweets, the guestbook, well-wishes jar, and the floral arrangement on her guestbook table.
Flower pens for the guest book.
We have rented a photobooth! Picture from photoboothservices.com. We will also need some sort of modified guestbook. I am thinking a well wishes tree, and a photo guest book.
No longer doing any sort of well-wishes (I think our guestbook will accomplish that??) but here they are in case anyone needs them!
Reception Decor, Flowers
I still love monograms. Many of the decorations like this will be DIY with silk flowers. I like the wooden ones on the right from 060306BigDay's wedding, too!
And a twist on the submerged centerpiece, is a single bud in a glass. I like this for filling space, somewhere...
Centerpieces...and this one is a crowd pleaser--even my dad liked it!
There's a market that takes place in the building where we're having the reception, where we can purchase flowers.
We'll probably have three different centerpieces, starting with the submerged flowers.
I love this lantern centerpiece and Krissy in Austin helped me find it! I can't remember her knottie name, but thank gosh for Krissy!
Good ol' Martha...her setting on the left, and Mrs.Donkey's DIY on the right. These really are a great non-floral DIY. KrystalChris and MrsDonkey's planning bio both have easy directions to follow!

Bryslove
Just a bunch of vases covered in vellum, kind of like Jagnsis did.
Head table example from The Knot library on the left. Brooke701
Vases bought at Fred Meyer's over half off! Again, gaudy but great!
Great pink and "amber" votives from JamaliGarden.com
Other ways to decorate votives: with ribbon like Jen&Joe06 on the left, or to wrap them like Martha on the right.
I am loving hanging strands of flowers...don't know where I'll put them, but where there's a will, there's a way!
I love pomanders, and there's a ton that can be done with them. The ones on the left are from Fiore Blossoms. On the right, they are hanging in the trees back there. My Matron of Honor recently went to a wedding where they cut all the pomanders and made them sit on tables as "kissing balls" at the reception.
Really love the wreath look as well.
Engagement Pics!

Our engagement pictures were taken by Fred Calma. We took them on an overcast day in August at Pt. Defiance Park in Tacoma and it ended up being perfect!

So like a bad knottie, I didn't send out save the dates! Please don't shoot me! Hey, I saved money and everyone who needs to know about the wedding, knows about it. I kind of just want to print like ten of these, though, because I love that FI and I designed these together!
And I was going to borrow CeeCee23's packaging--too cute!
Tara at Ephemera-press.com is a Seattle knottie who does letterpress for what I think is a great rate. We're looking at 225 invites, reply postcards and envelopes with the address wrap for 800 dollars. PLEASE check her out because I don't know when her prices will change!
She created beautiful pink and orange invites that are perfect, perfect, perfect!
The wrap on the envelope was the detail that had me thinking SOLD!
Pocketfolds for those who are doing them--I am IN LOVE with this invite layout, from Rachaelandcarl. The invite goes on the outside so it's the first thing the guest sees. Once they open up, they get the view that's on the right.
I'm in a little bit of a predicament. FI really likes program fans...and this was the mock-up I did for him. I like them, too, but not for the time and energy it takes to make them (about 200)! Plus, they can be a smidge noisy, even though we'll be outdoors and we will be mic-ed. What about the other lovely options...
So here's the horizontal layered program I crafted and really like...but am now feeling lazy.
I have an idea in the works...and I like a good old paddle fan, too. We'll see! Knottie Lindsay&Chris on the right.
This program is really great. It seems like it could be a lot of work, and I know YellowstoneYes had a bridesmaid who designed and printed these! So now I have another idea, another decision to make!
Edible Favors

I would love for these to be favors at the end of the night, but we'll see.
Also love these, knottie DRZwife

Who ever thought of "decorating" the bar? I might have to incorporate some of the superfluous items from above for bar decor.
And Martha, again. Just like the sign and how cute it is, and would fit our wedding...
I LOVE this idea from MrsDonkey. She asked her caterer to man the soda bar! They offered Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper in bottles and mixes, like cherry and lime juice, peanuts and vanilla syrup! YUM! We'll probably do this instead of an array of punch.
Rehearsal Dinner
The RD will be at my parents' home, since FI's family is all out of town. We are expecting anywhere from 60-100 people and wouldn't have it any other way! My dad built this bar a couple years ago--an homage to NW sports. There's a pool and wiffle ball court. SO looking forward to this!
The rehearsal dinner invites were printed on metallic Stardream paper and turned out pretty great, minus the crummy picture.
My mom scoped out pink and orange items for the RD for months. We also have pink keg cups and festive table cloths. ;-)
OOT Boxes
IF I get to them, I would like to stock them with maps, a note, a timeline, important numbers, Johnny's Seasoning and Almond Roca (local favs) and other local items, including postcards. If nothing else, I like Martha's idea on the right, of just hanging pertinent info in a box on a handle (inside the rooms). MrsKEW on the left.
